The watered down conversations,
The lies and excuses,
The generic answers to mask the absence of your mind,
Made walking away painfully easy.

Strength from scars.
They shouldn’t push you to believe you’re crazy. They don’t know where you’ve been. They haven’t walked in your shoes so they can’t even begin to comprehend your struggle or the complexity of your mind. You’re more than the smile on your face today, I know. You’re more than the calmness you seem to bring into situations now, I know. Your story is a lot deeper than that. You don’t show them your scars so they think you don’t have any. You don’t cry anymore so they think you’ve never shed a tear. You’re healed now so they believe you’ve never been hurt. It’s so difficult to get them to understand the kind of strength it took to crawl out of the hole of depression that was your past.
You know where you’re coming from and you see your growth. Don’t let them make light of it.
I acknowledge your strength. It’ll only get better from here.

Ever feel like you’ve known someone for such a long time that you get too comfortable? You forget to ask the important questions. Forget to find out where their mind is. You just assume you know them so well and you forget that people change, their dreams and priorities change, they grow. Change is inevitable. You need to keep learning about the people you love and what they love because you can lose them thinking you have history and you really know who they are. Maybe you did but have you tried to find out who they’ve become?
What do you want? Put your hand on your heart and ask yourself, what do I want? The first thing that comes to mind is always the right one.

You.
Be your own person,
Small Minds.
Ever met a narrow-minded person?
You know that person that always views situations from a less than smart perspective? The person you let in on your goals and ambitions and they’re so quick to shut you down or belittle you. Sometimes, you’d be made to believe you’re dreaming too big. No, that’s not it. They’re thinking too small. You need to distance yourself from that type of energy. You don’t need everyone to believe in your dream or understand it. If you believe in yourself and understand what you’re trying to achieve, that’s more than enough. It might not make sense to a lot of people but that’s okay. Don’t dream any less because of words out of a small mind.
